Google Pixel 8Pro Date and Design LEAKED?

Two new Pixel 8 leaks today showcasing the Pro's matte glass back as well as a carrier confirming the release date for both smartphones are the latest in a string of leaks leading up to Google's Pixel launch event.

beginning with the launch of the Pixel 8, Three A pre-order page for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro that IE released today confirms a few rumours. This confirms that pre-orders will start on October 4 and that, sure, Google's new devices will be available in Ireland.

But, as pointed out by Adam Conway on Twitter/X, the page also confirms the Pixel 8 release date. In a FAQ section, Three confirms that Pixel 8 orders will be delivered on October 12.

In addition, some fresh hands-on pictures give us another look at the black Pixel 8 Pro.

The pictures appear to be from a Facebook post, but the photographs don't really show anything other than the fact that the Pixel 8 Pro's rear is unmistakably matte, at least in this black version. It's still unclear if this holds true for all variations, but if it does, it's a welcome adjustment.

The Pixel 8 series will be unveiled on October 4 at 10:00am local time in New York (7:30pm IST). During the "Made by Google" event, the Pixel Watch 2 and a new colour for the Pixel Buds Pro are also expected to become official. On October 5, the forthcoming devices will be available for pre-order through Flipkart in India.

It's predicted that the newest Pixel devices will come with Android 14. The 6.17-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is anticipated for the base edition of the Pixel 8, while the 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen with a QHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate is rumoured for the pro variant. 

These should function on the brand-new Tensor G3 SoC. They are anticipated to come in two Memory capacities—8GB and 12GB—as well as two storage capacities—128GB and 256GB RAM. The 4,950mAh battery for the Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to offer 27W wired fast charging. A 4,485mAh battery with compatibility for 24W cable charging and 12W wireless charging could be found within the Pixel 8.
