Report: ASUS will end production of its Zenfone smartphone line.
Taiwanese media have reported that the Zenfone 10 will be the last device in the ASUS Zenfone line. A "organisational restructuring" at ASUS that has damaged their PC section in Taiwan and China is what led to this change.
A plan to
transfer some employees from the PC department to the mobile phone divisions,
specifically Zenfone and ROG Phone, was outlined in an internal letter from
ASUS. It appears, nevertheless, that these workers were eventually let go.
The Zenfone
series' discontinuation by ASUS looks to be the cause of this development. The
Zenfone team will no longer exist, and its members will either move to the ROG
Phone team or join other divisions in the company.
In June, ASUS previously declared its intention to restructure the company while assuring there would be no layoffs. However, the business did cut back on staff in its PC section in July, which had an impact on teams in Taiwan and Suzhou, China
Zenfone Series Conclusion:
A series that started in 2014 will come to an end with the Zenfone 10, which will be the last device in the Zenfone lineup. The Zenfone series has been around for a while, but it never really took off in the Android market, especially in the United States.
A few weeks
ago, the Zenfone 10 was also up for pre-order in the USA. It's important to
note that ASUS has not yet made any public remarks regarding the rumours of the
Zenfone series' end.
