Did Apple just confirm the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro?

New haptic feedback for toggling Silent Mode has been added to iOS 17 beta.

Apple Action Button

If you've been following the news, there won't be many shocks if Apple announces the iPhone 15 Pro in approximately three weeks. In the most recent beta, Apple may have now confirmed one of the rumoured new features.

According to 9to5Mac, new haptic vibration patterns have been added by Apple when Silent Mode is activated or deactivated using the mute option. When turning on Silent Mode in any prior version of iOS, there was a slight vibration, but there was no sign that it had been off. There is a haptic indicator for both states in the updated beta.

On the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple will probably replace out the mute switch for an Action button that can be used to operate a number of features, including the torch, camera, and third-party apps. It makes sense for Apple to add the same feedback to earlier phones as well because haptic feedback will be crucial to alerting the user when an action is being triggered.

On September 12 or 13, an event will probably unveil the iPhone 15 Pro, which will include a number of new features like a titanium body, periscope telephoto lens, and Thunderbolt support. Before being added to the rest of the line next year, the Action button is probably only going to be available on the iPhone 15 Pro versions.
